If a company’s culture is toxic, it will always be lackluster at best, regardless of how steller the technology is. This is because even the best technology still needs people and continuity to keep going and improve.
I often describe one of my former employers this way: “Fantastic technology, toxic culture.” If in an interview, I leave off the latter.
I think the team has a chance, if those of them with more intestinal fortitude than I stick around. The new VP is making some painful but necessary changes, but we needed him about six months ago.
